Interview With Logan Chrisman On Last Nights Basketball Game Vs. Crandon

Q. How do you think the  game went last night?
A. I think we played fairly solid for coming off of a two week game-less streak. On the other hand we made some mistakes that we don't usually make.

Q. What could you have done differently?
A. I think our biggest problems were too many quick shots and lack of rebounding.

Q. How are you going to bounce back from this tough loss?
A. We learned a lot from that game, as we do every game. We will continue to improve and be ready for our next game.

Q. What are you going to do to prepare yourself for the tournament games?
A. We have been preparing all season, so we should be ready.

Q. How do you feel about this season being your last high school season?
A. Its been a great four years and I'm going to miss my teammates and coaches, but I'm looking forward to continuing my career in college next year.

The same can be said about the crowd. Megan Milan said, "The game was so much more fun with the crowd being so into it. The crowd was definitely the best it's been all year!" The Lady Kellys raised money for the Breast Cancer Foundation on the tee shirts they sold, and also having audience members serve to the Kellys.

Career Day For Rebels!

Rebels have a career day posting 50 points against the Florence Bobcats. It was a cold night in Florence, Wisconsin, but the bitter cold did not effect the Rebels ability to score points at will. The team scored a total of 7 touchdowns. The team had a total of 653 offensive yards. The offensive attack was very balanced,  posting 330 passing yards as well as 323 rushing yards. Leading the rushing attack for the Rebels was Joey Kroll with 14 rushing attempts for 183 yards and a touchdown. Robbie Rocole had 71 yards on 10 attempts and adding the other rushing touchdown for the Rebels. Our very own Tommy Cleereman added 49 yards on 12 carries. Jake Ambrosuis was 10 for 16 throwing for 330 yards and 5 touchdowns. Receiving these 330 yards were a combination of receivers lead by Zach Reeves who had 5 catches and 113 yards and 2 touchdowns. Joey Kroll added 146 yard on 3 catches and 2 touchdowns. Austin Andrews and Robbie Rocole both added 1 catch. Rocole's catch was completed for 50 yards and a touchdown. Andrews' added 12 yards on 1 catch.
Congrats on the great game,  Rebels!

Interview With The Star Football Player- Jake Ambrosius

Q.) How do you think the game on Friday will go against the Cardinals?

Jake.) Should be a good game, should be a good game. A hard fought game between the Laona/Wabeno Rebels and the Crandon Cardinals.

Q.) Has the team done anything to prepare for this game?
Jake.) Oh yeah. We’ve been practicing and preparing for this game for a long time.  We know Crandon is going to be tough. We’ve got to be on our game.

Q.) Do you anticipate it to be a close game?
Jake.) I sure hope not. I hope we beat them pretty “handlingly”.

Q.)What do you anticipate to be the biggest challenge in the game?
Jake.) Stopping Hayden Krueger!

Q.) Why did you start playing football?
Jake.) Because I love it! Love it! I love me some football!

Q.) In some major games, how do you handle pressure?
Jake.) I just let it be until the first snap. After the first snap, the pressure is gone.

Q.) How is the relationship of a coach with the players?
Jake.) Coach Uncle Ron and I have an interesting relationship..

Q.) One football moment you can never forget.
Jake.) My first touchdown pass against Wausaukee to Robbie Rocole.

Q.) How does it feel to hear the cheers of supporters?
Jake.) Invigorating

Q.) How do you guys motivate each other in half time if you are behind?
Jake.) We know we’re a great group of seniors and we can trust each other. We can just look at each other and we know we can overcome any point deficit we face.

Oak Crest Invitational Golf Meet...

Kelly Golfers started off a cold and questionable day with snow on the ground...but by the time we arrived at the course in Norway, Michigan...the ground was green and clear.  Cold..very windy, and a bit discouraging.  Needless to say...as the event progressed, it would see the sun appear and a warmer side.  Still...the winds shot down much of that warmth.

A very nice course and time had...and on route home, coach Seiler had a short little detour in mind.  Sharing one of his favorite (and many there are...) places to paint outdoors, Long Slide Falls of the Peme Bon Won river.  Just 40 yards from the cul de sac parking spot...and the athletes enjoyed an awesome site, a roaring tumbling falls.  Of course...a quick moment for a team pic!  Then it was off to home...

Check out the Fighting Kellys Golf blog link for further updates on up and coming meets/matches, and the schedule for the season!

Helpful Reminder

As spring approaches we all start dusting off those ATVs to do a little off-roading as a helpful reminder it is a board rule that ATVs are not allowed on school property. This is a board rule and one that will hopefully remind the students to be safe and responsible with their recreational vehicles. If anyone drives to school on any form of  recreational vehicles please remember to park it across from the school.

Billy McLaughlin Performance

Billy McLaughlin a man a myth a legend. This brave individual lost almost everything when he lost his ability to play his guitar. From early on in his life all he ever wanted to do was play guitar. With most musicians it’s not the money they make not the attention they gain it’s the love of the music that they play that makes them who they are. No one can be expected to take that part of them away. But with Billy McLaughlin his never ceasing love of music had him do something amazing. He learned to play the guitar twice. He knew what he wanted he had what he wanted lost it over came adversity and could do what he loved play guitar. The obstacle that came in his way was focal dystonia. This is a rare nerve disease that stopped him from making it did not stop him from finding the hope to fight on through and win. This inspiration tale of hope shows how indomitable the human spirit is. We all are faced with problems and pains it’s what unites the human race but that doesn’t mean that we should give in to our fears and doubts. Hopefully this tale of a man a dream and hope will inspire someone to face their problems head on and that we can come out on top.

Halloween

Halloween the time of year we find ourselves dressing up going out and accepting candy from strangers. How many people actually know the history of this holiday? Halloween actually hails from the Celtic pagan holiday Samhain (pronounced "sah-win"). The celts belived that on this night the worlds of the living and the dead become thinner so the dead can come to the land of the living thus dressing up scares away the dead. The children that would dress up would usally be rewarded with candy that is how the handing out of candy. This is why candy handing out is a custom.

Charlie Brown is the one person I identify with. C.B. is such a loser. He wasn't even the star of his own Halloween special.

Kelly movie review

Real steel is rocky meets sok'em Bop'em on the lifetime chanel. The movie tells the story of a beat neck dad Charlie Keyton (Hugh Jackman) reconecting with his son Max (Dakota Goyo). In the opening of Real steel Charlie is at a rodeo where he is having his old boxing robot fight a bull. Initally Charlie maxes a bad choice when he bets his robot vs the bull for to much money. After his robot is killed by the bull charlie gets a call saying his former girlfriend has died and he is now responsable for his 11 year old son. Charlie skips out on his debters and goes to sign over the rights of custody to his ex's sister who is Maxs aunt Debera(hope Davis). Charlie seeing that Debra's new boyfriend is very rich he formulates a plan to sell the rights of Max to them. So charlie works out a deal with Debera's Husband Marvin(James Rebhorn) to spend the summer with Max. Then using the money he buys a robot that later  is destroyed blowing all of Charlies money. Then Charlie brings max to the robot junkyard looking fior parts max almost dies falling of a cliff but is saved by an old g-2 robot that later max brings back to charlies place. The father son clash find common ground and fight there way to the top of the ranks with there little bot. Well the parts in this movie are filled with good actors and as much C.G.I. Hollywood could through up, Real Steel is very perdictable and even though it has Elements of some origanality the over all theme is a little worn out. This movie is good for those who just want to watch a robot kill another robot or actually want a heart touching emotional movie but to the tone of the same old song dance of every movie.
