Lady Kellys fall to Suring 48 to 51

It was tournament night in Laona for the Lady Kellys, and
would prove no doubt to be a disappointing loss tonight for
our girls, but certainly
not a disappointment for the grand
valiant effort witnessed by
area fans Tuesday night here
at Laona.

The score which put us into overtime shows it was a
fight back and forth all evening...

...with a last few second's shot made beneath the boards by
Kenzie Krawze of Laona, tying it all up.

Here is just one moment typical of the battle in the paint
all night long...

Allysa grinds it on the outside while Kenzie sets up your
classic pic...

Down to the wire every point counts...here Hannah takes
aim at the freethrow line...

Coach Tinsman instructs Hannah, "Don't throw it in..."
and takes an important critical time out...with little time
remaining-

Allysa at the line...

It was a close one...and didn't go our way, but we're
proud of your effort Ladies...way 2 go!

One of those Memorable Nights!!!

What can you say. Sitting back, watching it happen...taking mental
notes, you see that a basketball game becomes really a community
event. A social happening. A time for common ground where people
throughout the area come together and celebrate life, family,
friends...and cheer on their young high school athletes! The score is
the culmination, the last hoorah of the evening, and the win tonight
is now become history! Laona Kelly Boys defeating the Wabeno Log
Rollers a resounding 85-42

Taylor caught up with the crowd's festive moments!

I'm quite proud of this next photo actually, you have to snap a lot
of pictures to get any number that turn out, and its a bit like
stalking game or hunting. This one' of Shawn showing some height
and commitment to take it to the boards!!! Good goin' Shawn!!!

Once again, we were treated to the atmosphere that a pep band brings
to the night event!!! Thank you student musicians!!!

Megan and Annabelle show they are caught up in the spirit!
Go Kellys!!!

Both Max and Joe have their moments at the line, squaring
it up...staring it down!

...and it seems wherever you find traffic on the floor, Jay
is going to be right there in the middle of it. Wow...can
you say...kerrrrr'Runch!

As Shania and Stephanie show, games are also a chance to
get together with friends not often seen. Obviously having
a good time!

Big games against close rivals often mean a very busy and
profitable time for concessions. Here senior class students are
busy serving it up and helping complete this whole cultural
social event! A big thanks to you seniors...and that yummy
popcorn we hear about often!!!

And the last two pics are dedicated here tonight to our
own Air Ambrosius!!! Wowza...no doubt Jimmy is adding
up frequent flyer miles!!!

As always...click on the images to see a nicer larger
view. Our basketball season is now nearly over, can
you believe it!!!

Blood & Guts...Spit & Fire...Battle on the Court!

Laona Kelly fans were held in the clutches of a firey
boys basketball game tonight, watching their boys
battle shot for shot with the Three Lake Bluejays...
unfortunately coming up short 48-58...

The night began with the jv's who were successful in
their quest of a win. Here Edwin battles it out beneath
the boards!

..and its total focus for Jake here as he seeks
to take it on home...

The Varsity match saw a good deal of air time
and look at this battle exchange as Jay takes it
to the hoops!!! Wowza!!!

...and a little Jay airtime, nicely squared up
and sighted in on the hoops from the outside!

Not to be outdone, Jimmy finds plenty of
hang-time on this outside three...

Stephen demonstrated all night he could
play up against the big guys...

The boys left it all out there on the floor,
fighting to the end! Great job Kellys!!!

2nd & 3rd grade try their hand at the Cards

Wade, Halle, Jade and Trevor...second grade. Nice job!

Ben, Alexis, Annabelle, and Libby...also a nice job!

Lesson in Design...Real World Application

Fifth and sixth grade art today met in the gymnasium, the
challenge being to take a pack of index cards and compete
against other groups of 2-3 students for height. For sixth
grade the added challenge was to also use the least number
of cards...as though a card represented building and labor
costs (perhaps $1 million dollars per card).

The example of bidding on contracts to build a new bridge
perhaps in Minnesota, showing that we could come up with
innovation, less costs and so forth. Initially the students
just leaned cards and tried to build them up, but seeing
Mr. Seiler bending his cards (never said students couldn't
bend them...hee heeee), this opened up a whole other flood
of ideas. Thinking outside the box...

Above you see Mr. Seiler's effort for to demonstrate thinking
creatively. Here are some fun efforts by the students! Very
nicely done...!

Brad, Heaven and Lesley (5th grade)-

Trevor, Amelia and Austin...(fifth grade)-

Ryan and Joe (sixth grade)-

Casey, Courtney and Cindy (sixth grade)-

Andrea, Jack and Janeska...(sixth grade)-

and Billy, Koral and Jacob-
